An American Hero: Roy Benavidez, Medal of Honor Recipient

"On May 2nd, 1968 Army Master Sergeant Roy Benavidez, armed with only a knife, jumped into action to help a 12-man Special Forces patrol who were surrounded by nearly 1,000 men. He would later be awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, four Purple Hearts, and the Medal of Honor for his valorious actions in combat.

Today, on the 24th anniversay of his passing, we welcome his daughter, Yvetter Benavidez Garcia, to the podcast to continue her father's legacy by inspiring and educating others about his story.
